Privacy policy

We collect what you send us to cook and deliver your catering, and nothing else. This page says exactly what that is, who processes it, and how to have it removed.

This document is being finalised with counsel. Company details, registered address and governing law are marked below as still to be confirmed. For anything urgent, write to book@privatejetchef.com.

Who is responsible for your data

Private Jet Chef is the controller of the personal data described on this page. The registered company name, address and registration number are to be confirmed before go-live and will appear here.

You can reach us about anything on this page at the address at the foot of this document.

What we collect, and when

We only collect what you send us. There is no account to create and no profile built about you.

  • Catering request (the request page): your first and last name, email address, phone number if you give one, company if you give one, the delivery airport, tail number, date and time, FBO, handling options, the dishes and quantities you selected, and any notes you write for the chef.
  • Quote form (the contact page): your name, email address and message.
  • Menu PDF download: the fact that a download happened and which page it started from — not who you are.
  • Server logs kept by our hosting provider: IP address, timestamp and requested URL, for security and troubleshooting.

Why we use it

To answer you and to deliver the catering you asked for. That is the whole purpose: quoting, confirming, preparing and handing over your order, and reaching you if something about your flight changes.

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not send marketing email unless you ask us to.

Who else sees it

Only the processors we need to run the service. Each one sees only what it needs:

  • Our database and file storage provider, which holds requests and orders.
  • Our transactional email providers, which send you the acknowledgement of your request and notify our operations team.
  • Our automation provider, which routes each request to the kitchen that will cook it.
  • Our hosting and CDN provider, which serves this site.
  • The chef, kitchen and — where you nominate one — the FBO or handling agent involved in your delivery, who receive what they need to prepare and hand over your order.

International transfers

We cover airports across several continents, and some of our providers process data outside the country you write from. Where that happens, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers publish. The full list of providers, their locations and the applicable safeguards is to be confirmed and will be published here.

How long we keep it

Requests and orders are kept for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet our accounting and food-safety record obligations; the exact retention period is to be confirmed with counsel and will be stated here. Server logs are kept for a short technical window. Anything you ask us to delete, we delete, unless we are required to keep it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or object to how we use it, and ask for it in a portable form. Write to us and we will act on it — and tell you plainly if the law requires us to keep something.

If you are in the EU or the UK and you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to your national data protection authority.

Security

Data travels over HTTPS. Access to requests and orders is restricted to the people who need it to cook and deliver your catering. No system is perfect: if a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant authority as required.

Changes to this page

When this policy changes we update the review date at the top. Material changes will be flagged here rather than passed over in silence.
